Soccer Game Preview: Tri-City Christian Academy vs. Heritage Academy Gateway

Tri-City Christian Academy hasn't had much luck against Heritage Academy Gateway recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Warriors will face off against the Heroes at 4:00 p.m. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Tri-City Christian Academy will bounce into Friday's game after beating East Valley Athletes for Christ, who they had gone 0-3 against in their three prior meetings. The Warriors came out on top in a nail-biter against the Eagles on Tuesday, sneaking past 2-1.

Meanwhile, Heritage Academy Gateway got the win against East Valley Athletes for Christ on Monday by a conclusive 8-1. Considering Heritage Academy Gateway have won three contests by more than six goals this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

Their offense was hitting East Valley Athletes for Christ from everywhere, as five different players booted in a goal. Lydia Komadina led that balanced group of strikers and accounted for three goals all by herself.

Heritage Academy Gateway's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 3-0-1. The home victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up one goal over those three matchups. As for Tri-City Christian Academy, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-2.

Tri-City Christian Academy might still be hurting after the 6-1 defeat they got from Heritage Academy Gateway in their previous meeting back in March of 2024. Can the Warriors avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
