Last Tuesday, everything went Liberty County's way against Wewahitchka as Liberty County made off with a 13-1 victory. The Bulldogs might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six matches by eight runs or more this season.
Mackenzie Walker was a standout: she scored two runs and stole Two bases. while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances. Caitlyn Harris was another key player, scoring three runs while going 2-for-2.
Liberty County always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .643. The last time their OBP was this high was back in April of 2024.
Meanwhile, Madison County owes their pitching crew a big pat on the back after their performance on Tuesday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against North Florida Christian, sneaking past 2-0. The two-run effort marked the Cowboys' lowest-scoring game of the season, but in the end it didn't matter.
The result came thanks to Alden Bass's shutout, as she gave up just two hits and racked up six Ks. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Logan Bass was excellent, scoring a run and stealing Two bases. while going 3-for-3. The team also got some help courtesy of Gravelynn Newsome, who got on base in all three of her plate appearances with one stolen base.
Liberty County's win bumped their record up to 8-1. As for Madison County, their victory bumped their record up to 6-0.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Friday as neither team is afraid to steal. Liberty County has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 4.4 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Madison County struggles in that department as they've been averaging 3.7 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
