Baseball Recap: Altoona Comes Up Short

If Altoona was feeling good fresh off their 9-3 takedown of Amery on Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Railroaders lost 12-6 to the Lake Country Lutheran Lightning on Friday. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Railroaders have suffered since April 25, 2024.

Altoona's defeat dropped their record down to 14-11. As for Lake Country Lutheran, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-5 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Altoona will venture away from home to challenge Gale-Ettrick-Trempealeau at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. The Red Hawks will roll in looking for their fifth straight win, something the Railroaders surely won't give up without a fight. As for Lake Country Lutheran, they will head out to face off against University School of Milwaukee at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
