Football Recap: Mclane Starts Season with Victory Against Avenal

McLane gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Thursday. They blew past the Avenal Buccaneers 65-0. The Highlanders have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Buccaneers, too.

Vernon Lacy was nothing short of spectacular: he threw for 184 yards and five touchdowns while completing 78.6% of his passes. Demetrius Simon also helped with two scores in total.

McLane will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Mendota at 7:00 p.m. on September 5. As for Avenal, they will face off against Strathmore at 7:30 p.m. on the 29th.
