Volleyball Recap: Southern Wayne Comes Up Short

Southern Wayne was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss dating back to last season. They lost 3-0 to the Princeton Bulldogs. The Saints were not able to make up for their defeat to the Bulldogs from their previous meeting back in August of 2024.

The final score came out to 25-8, 25-14, 25-11.

Mylee Wiggs paced Southern Wayne's offense, picking up five kills. Wiggs got some help from Addison McPhail and her four assists. Morgan Brimberry controlled things from the service line, finishing with three aces.

Southern Wayne's loss dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Princeton, they pushed their record up to 2-0 with the win, which was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season.

While Southern Wayne had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
