Preview: Union Pines Vikings vs. Hoke County Bucks
Two dominant guards in Jaylen Kyle and Salah Sutton are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Union Pines Vikings will be playing at home against the Hoke County Bucks at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Union Pines suffered their biggest defeat yet this season on Thursday. They were outmatched by Richmond at home and fell 75-47. It was the first time this season that Union Pines let down their fans at home.
Kyle put forth a good effort for the losing side as he dropped a double-double on 20 points and ten rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Aiden Leonard, who scored five points along with nine rebounds.
Meanwhile, Hoke County came up short against Southern Lee on Wednesday and fell 61-53. While losing is never fun, Hoke County can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 218th, while Southern Lee is ranked 99th).
Union Pines' defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 9-5. As for Hoke County, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 9-6.
