Basketball Recap: Newton South Comes Up Short

Newton South was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat dating back to last season. They lost to the Malden Catholic Lancers at home by a 80-62 margin. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Lions of the 62-46 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in December of 2023.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Newton South will be home for the holidays to greet Bedford at 7:00 p.m. on December 20th. As for Malden Catholic, they will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Burncoat at 6:30 p.m. on December 23rd.
