Basketball Recap: Ahmad Mcintosh's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Glynn Academy over Statesboro

Glynn Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their 13th straight defeat. They lost to the Statesboro Blue Devils on the road by a 68-50 margin. While losing is never fun, the Terrors can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 463rd, while the Blue Devils are ranked 70th).

Glynn Academy's loss came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Ahmad Mcintosh, who posted 12 points and seven boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Jordan Lewis, who had ten points and three steals.

Leading Statesboro to victory were Ja'Caiden Cone and Dartavian (Dj) Brown. Cone went 8 for 11 en route to 20 points and five rebounds, while Brown went 6 of 9 to rack up 15 points and three steals. What's more, Cone also posted a 67% three-point shooting accuracy, which is the highest he's posted since back in December of 2024. Camdyn Wilkerson was another key player, putting up 11 points.

Glynn Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 1-24. As for Statesboro, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 20-3.

Looking ahead, Glynn Academy will take on South Effingham at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. South Effingham is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 60.6 points per game this season. Statesboro does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
