Basketball Game Preview: Carlisle Bison vs. DeWitt Dragons

The Carlisle Bison will head out on the road to challenge the DeWitt Dragons at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. DeWitt took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Carlisle, who comes in off a win.

DeWitt is hoping to do what Hazen couldn't on Friday: put an end to Carlisle's winning streak, which now stands at three games. Carlisle breezed by Hazen to the tune of 47-15. That 32 point margin sets a new team best for the Bison this season.

Meanwhile, DeWitt suffered their biggest defeat since February 21st on Tuesday. They lost 58-38 to Dumas. While losing is never fun, the Dragons can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Arkansas basketball rankings (they are ranked 176th, while the Bobcats are ranked 11th).

DeWitt has traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-4 record this season. As for Carlisle, their victory bumped their record up to 3-4.

Carlisle came up short against DeWitt in their previous meeting back in December of 2021, falling 49-42. Can Carlisle avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
