Basketball Game Preview: Science Leadership Academy vs. Parkway West HOYAS

Science Leadership Academy will square off against the Parkway West HOYAS at 3:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Parkway West took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Science Leadership Academy, who comes in off a win.

Science Leadership Academy will bounce into Tuesday's game after beating Masterman, who they had gone 1-7 against in their eight prior meetings. Science Leadership Academy put the hurt on Masterman with a sharp 59-33 victory on Friday. Science Leadership Academy has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won three contests by 26 points or more this season.

Jonathan Cuthberson went supernova for Science Leadership Academy, putting up 23 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Sebastian Torres, who posted 13 points.

Meanwhile, Parkway West was not able to break out of their rough patch back in December of 2024 as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat dating back to last season. They lost to Arts Academy at Benjamin Rush on the road by a 52-33 margin. One positive for the HOYAS, at least, is that this was the most points they've scored all season.

Parkway West's loss dropped their record down to 0-5. As for Science Leadership Academy, they now have a winning record of 4-3.

Science Leadership Academy won a match that couldn't have been any closer in their previous matchup back in January of 2024, slipping by Parkway West 35-34. Will Science Leadership Academy repeat their success, or does Parkway West have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
