Volleyball Recap: Evansville Christian Starts Season with Victory Against Loogootee

Evansville Christian had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They came out on top against the Loogootee Lions by a score of 3-1 on Saturday. This was payback for the Eagles, who suffered a 2-0 defeat the last time these two teams met.

The win didn't come easy: Loogootee scored at least 18 points in every set. The final score came out to 26-24, 23-25, 25-18, 25-22.

Ellie Wampler paced Evansville Christian's offense, picking up 19 kills. Wampler got some help from Allie Foreman and her 22 assists. Wampler also made an impact serving: she shared the team lead in aces with Jocee Weisenborn, racking up two apiece.

Evansville Christian wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 3-0 victory against Mt. Vernon on the 19th. As for Loogootee, they have also already played their next game, a 3-1 loss against Jasper on the 18th.
