Volleyball Recap: Evansville Christian Starts Season with Win Against Loogootee

Evansville Christian had to kick off their season on the road on Saturday, but they showed no ill effects. They walked away with a 3-1 victory over the Loogootee Lions. This was payback for the Eagles, who suffered a 2-0 defeat the last time these two teams met.

The win didn't come easy: Loogootee scored at least 18 points in every set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 26-24, 23-25, 25-18, 25-22.

Jocee Weisenborn had a dynamite game, getting 22 digs and two aces.

Looking ahead, Evansville Christian will challenge Mt. Vernon at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Loogootee, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 3-1 loss against Jasper on the 18th.
