Recap: Waldron Spartans vs. Stryker Panthers
The Waldron Spartans''s recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Saturday after their sixth straight loss. They fell 56-46 to Stryker. The contest was a 30-30 toss-up at halftime, but Waldron was blown out by Stryker in the second.
Waldron's loss came despite strong showings from Sam Williams and Seth Williams. Williams rushed for 197 yards and a touchdown, while Williams rushed for 33 yards and three touchdowns.
Waldron's loss was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their overall record down to 2-7. Admittedly, the team was facing some tough opposition over that stretch, including 9-0 Lenawee Christian and 7-2 Pittsford (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 61.1% over those games). As for Stryker, their victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 2-7.
Waldron does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Stryker will head out on the road to face off against McKinley at 5:30 p.m. on Saturday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Ohio (McKinley is ranked seventh, while Stryker is ranked sixth).
