Softball Recap: St. Henry Comes Up Short

St. Henry was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They took a 10-5 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Newton Local Indians.

Breonna McCoy made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Rya Buschur, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.

St. Henry's defeat dropped their record down to 5-9. As for Newton Local, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-3 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. St. Henry will head out to take on Marion Local at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Flyers will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something the Redskins surely won't give up without a fight. As for Newton Local, they are taking a road trip to square off against Tri-County North at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Indians' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Panthers have averaged an impressive 6.6 runs per game this season.
