Reedley got their first taste of in-conference action on Friday and they started things off strong. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past the Hanford West Huskies 3-1. This was a revenge game for the Pirates: when they faced off against the Huskies on Wednesday, they had to take a 4-2 defeat.

Reedley's win was truly a team effort as six different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Rocky Garcia, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base, one run, and one double. Another was Alex Rodriguez, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.

Reedley moved to 10-10 with that victory, which also ended their five-game losing streak. As for Hanford West, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost seven of their last eight matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 10-11 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Reedley will head out to face off against Washington Union at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Panthers will roll in looking for their fifth straight win, something the Pirates surely won't give up without a fight. As for Hanford West, they are taking a road trip to challenge Selma at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Huskies' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Bears have averaged an impressive 6.2 runs per game this season.
