Basketball Recap: Grace Christian vs. Fairview Eagles
Even though Grace Christian have not done well against the Fairview Eagles recently (they were 0-4 in their previous four matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Saturday. Grace Christian came out on top against the Eagles by a score of 71-60. Given Grace Christian's advantage in MaxPreps's basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 92nd in West Virginia, while the Eagles are ranked 239th in Kentucky), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Grace Christian's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Jonathen Holderby led the charge by almost dropping a double-double on 21 points and nine rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Brady Johnston, who almost dropped a double-double on 16 points and nine rebounds.
The win makes it two in a row for Grace Christian and bumps their season record up to 9-11. As for Fairview, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-18.
Grace Christian will play host again and welcome the Eagles, where tip off is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Fairview, they and the Eagles will face off at 7:30 p.m. on February 8th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Adams County Christian comes in still looking for their first win of the season.
