Basketball Recap: Grantsville Makes It 17 in a Row at Home

Grantsville had won 16 straight home games dating back to last season and Baylee Lowder did her part to make it 17 on Thursday. The Grantsville Cowboys strolled past the Morgan Trojans with points to spare, taking the game 72-58 thanks in part to Lowder, who dropped a double-double on 23 points and 15 rebounds. Those 15 boards gave her a new career-high.

Avery Allred was another key player, almost dropping a double-double on 20 points and nine rebounds. The contest was her third in a row with at least ten points.

Several Trojans players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Eva Birkeland, who went 5 for 11 en route to 19 points. Birkeland has been hot for a while, having posted 15 or more points the last nine times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Zoe Rockenfield, who posted ten points in addition to six boards and five assists.

Grantsville's victory bumped their record up to 14-0. As for Morgan, they now have a losing record at 7-8.

Grantsville has already played their next matchup, a 69-38 win against South Summit on the 14th. As for Morgan, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 72-32 victory against Union on the 14th.
