Caesar Rodney has given up an average of 6.6 runs per game this season, but Thursday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Caesar Rodney is headed into Thursday's match looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their fourth straight game on Tuesday. They came up short against Sussex Tech, falling 11-1. Surprisingly, this marked the Riders' fifth straight game in which the away team has come away the victor.

Meanwhile, after only one run in their last contest, Delmar made sure to put some runs up on the board against Seaford on Tuesday. The Wildcats' pitchers stepped up to hand the Bluejays a 10-0 shutout. Considering the Wildcats' hitters had been struggling lately, the high-scoring outing was a much-needed turnaround.

Caesar Rodney's loss dropped their record down to 2-7. As for Delmar, their victory bumped their record up to 9-4.

Everything went Caesar Rodney's way against Delmar in their previous matchup back in April of 2024, as Caesar Rodney made off with a 7-1 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Riders since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
