Recap: Peyton Panthers vs. Fountain Valley Danes
The Peyton Panthers had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 6.5 points), and they went ahead and made it three on Thursday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Fountain Valley and snuck past 52-49. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win Peyton has posted yet this season.
Peyton's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Ayden Breese led the charge by dropping a double-double on 14 points and 11 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of John Turner, who scored five points along with 11 rebounds and two steals.
Peyton has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 8-4 record this season. As for Fountain Valley, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-5 record this season.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Peyton will take on Y at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Fountain Valley, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Pikes Peak Christian at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
