Fullerton started off well but failed to capitalize on an early lead against Bonita. They took a 5-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Bonita Bearcats on Thursday. The Indians' loss signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Malaya Majam-Finch spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four runs (all of which were unearned) on four hits and racked up six Ks.

At the plate, Abby Lee was cooking despite her team's loss, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run and two RBI. She also put up a run, which was her first of the season.

Fullerton's defeat dropped their record down to 5-2. As for Bonita, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 6-1.

Coming up, Fullerton will take on Cypress in a tournament on Friday. Fullerton's pitching crew has only allowed 2.4 runs per game this season, so Cypress' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Bonita, a feisty cat fight will be fought as Bonita Bearcats face off against Norco Cougars at 1:30 p.m. on Friday. Norco will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each contest than the last.
