The Evansville North Huskies will face off against the Washington Hatchets at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Evansville North comes in on four and Washington on 14.
Last Tuesday, Evansville North didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against Jasper, but they still walked away with a 46-40 win.

Evansville North found their leader in sophomore Azaria Finn, who went 7 for 17 on her way to 25 points and three steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Finn has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Lexi Scott, who posted nine points and three steals.
Meanwhile, Washington beat Princeton 45-35 on Tuesday. Given the Hatchets' advantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 23rd, while the Tigers are ranked 202nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Evansville North better focus on containing Katie Reed and Shay Hawk as the pair were huge in Washington's win. Reed dropped a double-double on ten points and 15 rebounds, while Hawk had 13 points and seven boards. The dominant performance gave Reed a new career-high in rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Aubrey Frank, who put up seven points and six boards.
Washington smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 13 offensive rebounds. They are a perfect 5-0 when they hit their own glass that hard.
Evansville North is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight games, which provided a massive bump to their 10-6 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 53.5 points per game. As for Washington, they pushed their record up to 16-2 with the victory, which was their sixth straight on the road.
Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: Evansville North has been crashing the rebounds this season, having averaged 27.4 boards per game. However, it's not like Washington struggles in that department as they've been averaging 27.1 rebounds. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we'll see if one team can grab an edge.
Evansville North came up short against Washington in their previous meeting back in January of 2024, falling 44-40. Can Evansville North avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
