VERO BEACH, Fla. - A big 28-point first quarter helped carry the Indians to a 49-6 victory over Martin County (Stuart, Fla.) on Saturday.
Vero Beach scored on a 
Dalton Stokes touchdown run, a Stokes touchdown pass to 
Javonte Bagley, a passing touchdown and a passing touchdown in the quarter.
After taking the lead on a Stokes touchdown run in the first quarter, VB was up 42-0 at the half.
The Indians expanded their lead to 49 points entering the fourth quarter. Vero Beach's lone score in the quarter came on a 
Spencer Chenoweth touchdown run.
The Indians raced to 28 in the first quarter alone and never looked back.
Martin County's lone touchdown came on a pass in the fourth quarter.
	
When the two teams played each other last season, the Indians came away with a 42-14 victory.
The defeat comes as a step back for Martin County, who notched a 29-27 victory over South Fork in its previous outing. The win brought Vero Beach's winning streak to three games.
Vero Beach (3-0) will play a non-conference game against Lake Minneola next week, while Martin County (1-2) will take on Okeechobee also in a non-conference game.
