Basketball Recap: Monache Finds Playoff Glory Versus Tehachapi

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Monache had no problem doing just that on Saturday. They walked away with a 75-65 win over the Tehachapi Warriors. The Marauders have beaten the Warriors the last three times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Warriors has come to flipping the script.

Monache's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Ty Baxter led the charge by putting up 24 points and five assists. Baxter's evening made it four games in a row in which he has scored at least 17 points. E'Saun Jefferson was another key player, almost dropping a double-double with 28 points and nine rebounds.

Baxter wasn't the only one working in the assist department: Monache was working as a unit and finished the game with 18 assists. That's the most assists they've posted since back in February of 2024.

Monache's victory bumped their record up to 18-11. As for Tehachapi, their defeat dropped their record down to 16-9.

Monache didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 52-47 win against Coalinga on the 19th. Tehachapi does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
