Soccer Game Preview: Chilton County vs. Stanhope Elmore

The Chilton County Tigers will face off against the Stanhope Elmore Mustangs at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Chilton County's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for five straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.

Chilton County fell victim to Calera and their airtight defense on Tuesday. They lost 10-0 to the Eagles. While losing is never fun, the Tigers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Alabama soccer rankings (they are ranked 152nd, while the Eagles are ranked 43rd).

Meanwhile, Stanhope Elmore can bid farewell to their four-game losing streak thanks to their game on Tuesday. Their defense stepped up to hand Eufaula a 10-0 shutout.

Chilton County's defeat dropped their record down to 1-11-1. As for Stanhope Elmore, the win got them back to even at 8-8-1.

Chilton County couldn't quite get it done against Stanhope Elmore in their previous matchup back in April of 2023 as they fell 4-2. Can Chilton County avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
