Volleyball Game Preview: Howell Rebels vs. Christian Brothers Academy Colts

The Howell Rebels will venture away from home to challenge the Christian Brothers Academy Colts at 5:15 p.m. on Monday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

On Wednesday, Howell came up short against St. John-Vianney and fell 2-0.

Meanwhile, Christian Brothers Academy didn't have quite enough to beat Middletown South on Thursday and fell 2-1. The Colts have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

The 2-1 doesn't really show just how close this match was: all the sets Christian Brothers Academy lost were decided by three points or less. The match finished with set scores of 29-27, 21-25, 25-23.

Howell will have to contain Will Cusat as he made an impact in Christian Brothers Academy's last game. He had 12 digs and three assists. Nick Codispoti also deserves some recognition as he had his first block of the season.

Christian Brothers Academy's loss dropped their record down to 5-7. As for Howell, their defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 7-5.

Howell beat Christian Brothers Academy 2-0 when the teams last played back in April. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Rebels since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
