Softball Recap: Ironwood Wins Going Away Against Cactus

Ironwood made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Cactus, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Eagles blew past the Cobras 12-2 on Friday. The Eagles might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven contests by nine runs or more this season.

Serenity Meyer was excellent, scoring two runs while going 2-for-3. Addison Monahan was another key player, scoring two runs while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.

Ironwood's victory bumped their record up to 8-11. As for Cactus, their defeat ended an eight-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 7-8.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Ironwood will square off against Independence at 3:45 p.m. on Monday. The Eagles' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Patriots have averaged an impressive 11.1 runs per game this season. As for Cactus, they will challenge Paradise Honors at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. The Panthers will roll in looking for their ninth straight win, something the Cobras surely won't give up without a fight.
