Soccer Recap: Fredericksburg Wins Going Away Against Brownwood

Fredericksburg's and Brownwood's game on Friday was close at halftime, but Fredericksburg turned on the heat in the second half with four goals. The Fredericksburg Billies blew past the Brownwood Lions 5-2. While the Billies didn't have the best season last year (they finished 3-13-1), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

Fredericksburg has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a nice bump to their 6-1-2 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 23 goals over those five contests. As for Brownwood, their defeat ended a seven-game streak of away wins and brought them to 10-3.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Fredericksburg will challenge Canyon Lake at 7:00 p.m. on February 7th. Canyon Lake will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something Fredericksburg surely won't give up without a fight. Brownwood has already played their next game (against Lampasas), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
