Baseball Game Preview: Brandon Eagles vs. Bloomingdale Bulls

Brandon is 2-7 against Bloomingdale since February of 2015 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Brandon Eagles will head out to take on the Bloomingdale Bulls at 7:00 p.m. Brandon has given up an average of 9 runs per game this season, so hopefully the team got some pitching drills in this week.

Brandon is headed into Friday's contest looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their fourth straight game on Tuesday. They came up short against East Bay, falling 13-2.

Brandon saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Charles Revi Rodriguez, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one RBI. Joemiis Stroman also deserves some recognition as he got his first hits of the season.

Meanwhile, Bloomingdale came tearing into Tuesday's match with six straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 5 runs), and they left with even more momentum. Everything went their way against the Longhorns as they made off with a 10-1 win. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Bulls considering their two-run performance the game before.

James Osting spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on three hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances.

Bloomingdale's victory was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 7-1. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.8 runs over those games. As for Brandon, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-5.

Brandon suffered a grim 15-0 defeat to Bloomingdale in their previous meeting back in February of 2024. Can Brandon avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
