Baseball Recap: St. Paul's Episcopal Picks Up Sixth Straight Win on the Road

St. Paul's Episcopal never let their opponents score on Friday. They skirted past the UMS-Wright Prep Bulldogs 2-0. The game was the first time the Saints have beaten the Bulldogs on their field since April 3, 2019.

Not much got past Bradley Irish, who gave up just five hits and racked up seven Ks to keep UMS-Wright Prep off the board. Irish also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because St. Paul's Episcopal is undefeated when he allows at most one earned run, but 3-4 otherwise.

On the hitting side, John Stowers was excellent, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-3. That's the most hits he has posted since back in April of 2024.

St. Paul's Episcopal pushed their record up to 6-4 with the win, which was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.8 runs on average over those games. As for UMS-Wright Prep, their loss ended a five-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 9-9.

Looking ahead, St. Paul's Episcopal will host Vigor at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for UMS-Wright Prep, they will head out on the road to take on Rain at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Rain has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 17.8 runs per game on average), something UMS-Wright Prep will no doubt try to take advantage of.
