South Bend Riley suffered their biggest defeat since November 28, 2023 on Thursday. They had to suffer through a rough 56-24 loss at the hands of New Prairie. South Bend Riley was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 34-10.
South Bend Riley's defeat came about despite a quality game from Serenity Farmer, who scored seven points along with two steals and two blocks.
Meanwhile, Trinity took a serious blow against Marquette Catholic on Thursday, falling 47-8. While losing is never fun, Trinity can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 374th, while Marquette Catholic is ranked 90th).
South Bend Riley's loss dropped their record down to 2-15. As for Trinity, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-11.
South Bend Riley came up short against Trinity in their previous matchup back in January of 2023, falling 37-27. Thankfully for South Bend Riley, Teresa Pingel (who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 16 rebounds) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
