Baseball Recap: Penobscot Valley Howlers vs. Schenck Wolverines
Penobscot Valley had lost three straight on the road, but on Monday they dropped their record down to 0-4 to make it four. They lost 11-1 to the Schenck Wolverines. The Howlers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Wolverines apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in May of 2024.
As for Schenck, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 4-2. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.5 runs on average over those games.
For Schenck's part, Cameron Atkinson made a splash while hitting and pitching. He didn't allow a single earned run over six innings pitched. Atkinson has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in three consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with one stolen base and one RBI.

Coming up, Penobscot Valley is taking a road trip to take on Stearns at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Schenck, they will be playing at home against Bangor Christian at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
