While Markesan didn't have the best season last year (they finished 9-15), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. Everything went their way against the Rio Vikings on Thursday as they made off with a 10-4 win. The Hornets haven't had any issues with the Vikings recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.

Markesan's win bumped their record up to 5-2. As for Rio, their loss was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-3.

Looking ahead, Markesan will head out to square off against Fall River at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Rio, they will host Green Lake/Princeton at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. This will be the Vikings' first chance to prove their worth in the conference.
