Basketball Recap: O'connor Beats Stevens for Their Fourth Straight Victory

O'Connor had won three straight games and Hagen Hurst did his part to make it four on Tuesday. The O'Connor Panthers strolled past the Stevens Falcons with points to spare, taking the game 57-43 thanks in part to Hurst, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and 13 boards. His evening made it four games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points.

Another player making a difference was Evan Herrera, who posted 15 points in addition to five assists and five boards. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in points.

Despite the loss, Stevens still got an impressive performance from Cesar Roman, who went 5 of 11 on his way to 15 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Zayth Guerrero, who had nine points.

O'Connor's victory bumped their record up to 12-10. As for Stevens, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 10-12.

O'Connor will challenge Taft at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in O'Connor's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last four matchups. As for Stevens, they will host Marshall at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Marshall is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 57.8 points per game this season.
