Basketball Game Preview: Slidell Tigers vs. Pearl River Rebels + How To Watch

Having just played yesterday, the Slidell Tigers will jump right back in to play the Pearl River Rebels at 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Slidell has given up an average of 68.5 points per game this season, but Wednesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

It was a proper cat-fight when Slidell challenged Covington on Tuesday. The Tigers walked away with a 66-59 victory over the Lions. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Tigers.

Slidell's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Jalen Lucas, who shot 43% from the field on his way to 17 points. What's more, Lucas posted three assists, the most he's had since back in December of 2024. Jerry Birdlow was another key player, as he made all 6 shots he took for 14 points and six rebounds.

Slidell was working as a unit and finished the game with 11 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Meanwhile, Pearl River was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss dating back to last season. They took a 56-39 bruising from St. Stanislaus.

The win got Slidell back to even at 2-2. As for Pearl River, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-1.

Everything came up roses for Slidell against Pearl River in their previous matchup back in December of 2023, as the squad secured a 79-47 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Tigers since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
