University Christian hasn't had much luck against Providence School recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The University Christian Christians will look to defend their home field against the Providence School Stallions at 6:30 p.m. Both teams are coming into the match red-hot, with University Christian sitting on three straight wins and Providence School on four.
University Christian had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the eight-run drubbing they dealt Middleburg on Monday. University Christian put the hurt on Middleburg with a sharp 10-2 victory. The result was nothing new for the Christians, who have now won three games by seven runs or more so far this season.
Noah Moffat looked comfortable as he pitched three innings while giving up just two earned runs off three hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Bryson Harnage was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 4-for-5. Those four hits gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Bo Wilson, who scored a run and stole Two bases. while going 2-for-3.
University Christian always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .513. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their OBP total in three consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, Providence School won against John Carroll Catholic on Saturday with eight runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Tuesday. Providence School skirted past Bolles 8-7.
Ryan Walls looked comfortable as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out ten over four innings pitched.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Brody Kraft, who scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. Landis Pickett was another key player, scoring a run while going 3-for-4.
Providence School's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 7-2. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 6.3 runs over those games. As for University Christian, their victory bumped their record up to 6-3.
