Volleyball Recap: Trinidad Takes a Loss + How To Watch

Trinidad was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Raton Tigers. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Tigers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-0 on September 6th.

Trinidad started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 23-25, 25-16, 27-25, 25-21.

Aubrey Valdez paced Trinidad's offense, picking up five kills. Valdez got some help from Summer Hernandez and her six assists. Finally, Maya Morales kept Trinidad's defense grounded, leading the team with five blocks.

Trinidad's defeat dropped their record down to 3-10. As for Raton, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 9-3.

Looking ahead, Trinidad will be playing in front of their home fans against Swallows Charter Academy at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Raton, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 3-1 victory against Questa on the 4th.
