Recap: Anderson County Mavericks vs. Campbell County Cougars
After losing to the Campbell County Cougars the last time they met, the Anderson County Mavericks decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. Anderson County walked away with a 62-50 win over Campbell County on Friday. The win made it back-to-back wins for Anderson County.
Campbell County's loss came despite strong showings from Luke Browning and Logan Day. Browning dropped a double-double on 19 points and 10 rebounds, while Day scored 6 points along with 4 steals. Another player making a difference was Jordan Day, who scored 6 points.
The win got Anderson County back to even at 3-3. As for Campbell County, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-5.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Anderson County will take on Northview Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Northview Academy knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past six contests -- so hopefully Anderson County likes a good challenge. As for Campbell County, they will be playing at home against Halls at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Halls focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 21 on Friday.
