Basketball Game Preview: St. James Sharks vs. Johnson County Longhorns

The St. James Sharks and the Johnson County Longhorns will round out the year against one another at at 12:00 p.m. on Monday. Each of these teams will be battling to keep a three-game winning streak alive.

St. James saw some tournament action on Saturday. They walked away with a 38-26 victory over Happy Valley. Given the Sharks' advantage in MaxPreps' basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 119th in South Carolina, while the Warriors are ranked 351st in Tennessee), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Johnson County beat C.A. Johnson 48-41 on Saturday.

St. James' win bumped their record up to 9-5. As for Johnson County, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 6-10 record this season.

St. James won a contest that couldn't have been any closer when the teams last played back in December of 2023, slipping by Johnson County 28-27. Will St. James repeat their success, or does Johnson County have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
