Basketball Recap: Grafton Drops Season-High Score on West Bend East

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Grafton). They took their match on Friday with ease, bagging an 81-27 victory over the West Bend East Suns. Given the Black Hawks' advantage in MaxPreps' Wisconsin basketball rankings (they are ranked 193rd, while the Suns are ranked 420th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Despite the loss, West Bend East saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Savana Tillman posted ten points and five boards. Tillman continues to improve, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played.

The win snapped Grafton's losing streak at four games and leaves them with a 7-9 record. As for West Bend East, they are on an 18-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-14.

Grafton will challenge Slinger at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Considering Grafton has lost three straight at home and Slinger six straight on the road , this one might come down to who's more desperate to change their momentum. As for West Bend East, they will venture away from home to take on Cedarburg at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
