Poway put another one in the bag on Thursday to keep their undefeated season alive. It was close, but they ultimately received the gift of a 1-0 victory from a begrudging Poway squad. Their defense has been rock solid lately; the team hasn't given up a goal in their last five games.

Their one-goal win came courtesy of Carlo Gonzalez-Martinez, who's now up to four this season.

Poway's win bumped their record up to 7-0-1. As for Calexico, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-2-2.

Poway is taking a road trip to square off against El Camino at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Calexico, they will take on Southwest SD in a tournament on Thursday. Calexico's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for three straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.
