Boston Latin Academy will challenge a team with plenty of momentum: Boston Latin extended their winning streak to three on Monday. The Wolfpack walked away with a 6-3 victory over Wayland. That's two games straight that the Wolfpack have won by exactly three runs.
Haidyn Bletzer spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and one unearned) runs on two hits.
On the hitting side, Ava Enright was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and two RBI. That home run was her first of the season. Abby Rosenfield was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI.
Meanwhile, Thursday just wasn't the day for Boston Latin Academy's offense. They fell just short of Marblehead by a score of 1-0 on Thursday. The Dragons haven't had much luck with the Magicians recently, as the team has come up short the last four times they've met.
Boston Latin Academy saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Maddie Andrade, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base. Andrade is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games she's played.
Boston Latin's win bumped their record up to 4-13. As for Boston Latin Academy, they now have a losing record of 8-9.
Boston Latin's speedy runners might be the difference in Tuesday's contest. The Wolfpack have been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.4 stolen bases per game. It's a different story for Boston Latin Academy, though, as they've been averaging only 0.5 stolen bases. Will they be able to secure the bases, or will Boston Latin continue to outrun the ball?
