Baseball Recap: Eight Straight Road Victories for Rattan

Rattan put another one in the bag on Monday to keep their perfect season alive. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Hartshorne Miners a 10-0 shutout. The matchup marked the Rams' most dominant victory of the season so far.

The team relied heavily on James Childers, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 3-for-3. Those three hits gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Mark Janoe, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-2.

Rattan was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .450. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

Rattan's win was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 5-0. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.9 runs over those games. As for Hartshorne, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-6.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Rattan will venture away from home to take on Talihina at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Hartshorne, they will head out to square off against Indianola at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
