Softball Game Preview: Van Horn Eagles vs. McCamey Badgers

For the second straight game, Van Horn will face off against McCamey. The Eagles will look to defend their home field on Tuesday against the Badgers at 6:00 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Van Horn has three straight victories, McCamey has 25 straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

Van Horn is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They came out on top against McCamey by a score of 27-24 on Saturday. That's two games straight that the Eagles have won by exactly three runs.

Kylie Sanchez and Mckayla DeLaO did most of the damage at the plate: Sanchez got on base in all seven of her plate appearances with three runs, four RBI, and one stolen base, while DeLaO got on base in all seven of her plate appearances with four runs, four RBI, and one stolen base. Those four runs gave DeLaO a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Bobbi Garcia, who got on base in six of her seven plate appearances with two stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI.

Van Horn kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 19 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.

McCamey's loss dropped their record down to 0-12. As for Van Horn, their win bumped their record up to 5-10.
