Pearce and Lake Highlands are an even 5-5 against one another since April of 2015, but likely not for long. Pearce will venture away from home to face off against Lake Highlands at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Pearce is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.4 runs per game this season.
If Pearce beats Lake Highlands with 17 runs on Wednesday, it's going to be the team's new lucky number: they've won their past two matches with that exact score. Pearce put the hurt on Berkner with a sharp 17-0 win on Friday. The Mustangs haven't had any issues with the Rams recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive victory against them.

The team relied heavily on Emma Willers, who fired off two home runs, two stolen bases, and five RBI while going 2-for-2. Those two home runs gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Aubrey Yarbrough, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with three runs, four RBI, and one triple.
Pearce hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their strikeout total in four consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, Lake Highlands lost 13-7 to Berkner two weeks ago.
Lake Highlands saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Cassidy Grych, who went 2-for-3 with one RBI.
Pearce's win bumped their record up to 6-12-1. As for Lake Highlands, they now have a losing record of 3-4.
Wednesday's game will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Pearce hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .335. However, it's not like Lake Highlands struggles in that department as they've averaged .516. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
