The Greater Atlanta Christian Spartans's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fourth straight loss. They were outmatched by Wesleyan on the road and fell 75-30. While losing is never fun, Greater Atlanta Christian can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 265th, while Wesleyan is ranked 14th).
Despite the defeat, Greater Atlanta Christian saw an underclassman step up: Asia Johnson scored 18 points along with 3 steals. Johnson scored a full 60% of Greater Atlanta Christian's points, the second time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Greater Atlanta Christian bumped their record down to 1-6 with that defeat, which was their third straight on the road. As for Wesleyan, their victory bumped their record up to 5-1.
Greater Atlanta Christian will be playing at home against Chattahoochee at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Chattahoochee focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 21 on Saturday. As for Wesleyan, they will head out on the road to face off against Lumpkin County at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
