Recap: South Grand Prairie Warriors vs. La Vega Pirates
On Tuesday, the South Grand Prairie Warriors faced the La Vega Pirates in a battle between two of the state's top teams. South Grand Prairie walked away with a 46-37 win over La Vega. The win made it back-to-back wins for South Grand Prairie.
Several Pirates players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Angela Carroll, who scored 7 points along with 13 rebounds and 3 blocks. Alaysia Gude was another key contributor, scoring 11 points.
South Grand Prairie's victory bumped their record up to 8-2. As for La Vega, their defeat dropped their record down to 12-6.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. South Grand Prairie will take on Haltom at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for La Vega, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Hendrickson at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Hendrickson will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Texas Rankings (they are ranked 166th, while La Vega is ranked 11th).
