Softball Game Preview: Highland Fighting Scots vs. Pleasant Spartans

The Highland Fighting Scots will head out to challenge the Pleasant Spartans at 5:15 p.m. on Friday. Pleasant took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Highland, who comes in off a win.

Highland took a loss when they played away from home on Wednesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Thursday. They had just enough and edged out Lakewood 5-3.

Meanwhile, Pleasant was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They lost 10-3 to Ontario. That's two games in a row now that the Spartans have lost by exactly seven runs.

Destiny Brown was cooking despite her team's loss, firing off two home runs and three RBI while going 2-for-3.

Highland's win bumped their record up to 10-6. As for Pleasant, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-10.

Everything went Highland's way against Pleasant in their previous matchup on April 1st, as Highland made off with a 12-2 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Fighting Scots since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
