Softball Recap: Freeport Comes Up Short

Freeport was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They fell 6-2 to the Byron Tigers.

Freeport saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Mackenzee Matz, who went 1-for-3 with one run and one RBI.

Freeport's loss dropped their record down to 3-9. As for Byron, with the win, they broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 2-4.

Freeport wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 10-2 defeat against Guilford on the 21st. As for Byron, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, an 8-3 loss against Pearl City on the 19th.
