Basketball Recap: Irmo Takes a Loss

On Tuesday, the Irmo Yellow Jackets were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 47-46 to the Lower Richland Diamond Hornets.

Irmo's loss came despite strong showings from Jeremy Anderson and Carson Johnson. Anderson went 7 for 16 on his way to 16 points and six rebounds, while Johnson posted 12 points. The dominant performance gave Anderson a new career-high in points. The team also got some help courtesy of Antwoine Pierce, who earned six points and three steals.

Mario James had an outrageously good game for Lower Richland as he put up 23 points. Another player making a difference was La'Quaree Glenn, who had eight points.

Irmo's defeat dropped their record down to 2-2.

Irmo didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 65-59 loss against Spring Valley on the 5th. As for Lower Richland, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 46-35 defeat against White Knoll on the 6th.
