Softball Recap: Geneva Comes Up Short

After soaring to 12 runs the game before, Geneva was a bit more limited in their contest on Monday. They came up short against the Jefferson Area Falcons, falling 13-2. The loss continues a trend for the Eagles in their meetings with the Falcons: they've now lost three in a row.

Gianna Markijohn was cooking despite her team's loss, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one triple and one RBI. That triple marked the first that she has hit this season. Another player making a difference was Claire Cafaro, who went 1-for-3 with one home run.

The defeat was their first on the road , dropping their record down to 6-8. As for Jefferson Area, the win got them back to even at 9-9.

Coming up, Geneva will head out to challenge Conneaut at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Jefferson Area, they will welcome Sharon at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Tigers will roll in looking for their eighth straight victory, something the Falcons surely won't give up without a fight.
